General I/O?

Please use standard in and standard out!

Input --
Java: Scanner in = new Scanner(new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(;
C: scanf("%d %d", &integer1, &integer2);
C++: int x; cin >> x;

Output --
Java: System.out.println("asdf");
C: printf("%d %d", integer1, integer2);
C++: int x = 5; cout << x << endl;
General Java class names?

Please use the following class names (make sure classes are public):

Problem A - public class A { ... }
Problem B - public class B { ... }
. . .
General What does verdict Unknown mean?

That using the practice problem set that was used couple of years ago on a different server is never a good idea.
General Compilers?

As follows:
gcc 4.4.3
java 1.6.0_37
ghc 7.0.4
Python 2.6.6
General Python compile error?

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/pscadmin/tmp/acm/", line 1, in
File "", line 1
SyntaxError: unexpected EOF while parsing

REJECT: runtime error

Verdict for 00:33,team224,B,Python, is: R
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/pscadmin/tmp/acm/", line 1, in
File "", line 1
SyntaxError: unexpected EOF while parsing
B - Blue Chips If someone is distance D from you in both directions, do you count their chips once or twice?

E - Exercising Emoticons Output format it says
The number of characters on the lines containing an emoticon should be exactly 5*N-1, but N never been defined on the problem, can you please clarify. THank you!

Read the problem statement...

... and find the line "... each containing a description of a movie as a sequence of N decimal digits, ..."
J - Just Another Problem What prevents us from just printing out the original input? It says 'no longer than', not 'shorter than.'

Read the problem statement.
I - Inspired Procrastination At a specific life-point, can we choose to stay still for the rest of our life (i.e.: to end at life-point i, even if there are more choices?)

If you can procrastinate more, you will go for it (that's your nature, no - we know you better)
H - Harvesting Crops Why isn't our solution being judged?

Because judge is stalled

More details - it picks all submissions in the queue and does not update until it is done. Unfortunately there are a few border line time limit submissions in there.
F - Factorial Products Getting compile error, but it compiles on my machine. Can you tell us the issue?

I am stumped as well - compiles fine in your directory but judge does not like it for some reason...
D - Dicey Dice In Game 2 of the sample input, A picks the die first.

"Both players play optimally, always picking the die that is most beneficial for themselves."

How is it possible that B has the advantage in game 2 (as said in the sample output) if A chose first? (and A would obviously choose the die that gives him/her the greatest advantage)

That's the whole point of the problem.
D - Dicey Dice How can B have the advantage if A chooses a die first and A chooses optimally? (As in the sample data.)

That's the whole point of the problem.
J - Just Another Problem Why isn't our solution being judged after so long?

I am judging J's manually and I have no idea how to compile Haskell code that has no Main module. Learning as I go, I guess.

Sorry about that I am not good at spotting commented out code :)
F - Factorial Products Response to " I am stumped as well - compiles fine in your directory but judge does not like it for some reason..."

So what are we supposed to do?

Sorry for the delay , I will judge it manually

Give me 5 minutes

- both produce incorrect output
General Every question we submit gets a compile error now :(

Is it something in our template that's causing issues?

Most probably - can you please try removing unused stuff and see if we still get the error?
General Response to "Most probably - can you please try removing unused stuff and see if we still get the error?"

Removed everything but what was needed in F.cpp, still get error. Can I have the compile output?

Judge literally returns nothing. Just "Compile Error" message (which is also weird)

I guess I could do them manually but do you really need that many includes? I bet there is a circular reference somewhere that judge internally does not like.
General Fixed it!

Looks like it was a problem with my For preprocessor macro, which used typeof()

#define For(i, a, b) for (typeof(a) i=(a); i<(b); ++i)
#define For(i, a, b) for (int i=(a); i<(b); ++i)

Can you remove the following submissions from our team, which were all diagnosing this:

01:30 F C++ Incorrect Output
02:06 D C++ Compile Error
02:10 I C++ Compile Error
02:17 F C++ Compile Error
02:19 A C++ Compile Error
02:30 F C++ Incorrect Output

Phew ;)
I - Inspired Procrastination Can we go from a life point the next one without taking any decisions? In both cases that there is a decision to take and there is not.

Look at it as a graph - you can only move along the edges.
J - Just Another Problem Does the output have to be different from the input?

Read the problem statement.
G - Grinding Grid What's the time limit for G?

As it says close to the top of this page - 15 secs
I - Inspired Procrastination Only one case for each input? or we need to do scanf() != EOF

It clearly explains what the input is (and sampleS) are there to reinforce it.
I - Inspired Procrastination Is it guaranteed that we can reach the last point? Can end our life at any point?

You can get stuck at any point, or procrastinate forever.
I - Inspired Procrastination Is there at most one edge between two life points?

K - Kool Konstruction What is Time Limit Exceeded?? Program takes too long to run??

F - Factorial Products I keep getting a compile error even though it is compiling fine on my computer

F - Factorial Products nvm!!

I won't :)
